NOTICE TO ALL LEGAL PRACTITIONERS ON THE APPOINTMENT OF FEDERAL HIGH COURT JUDGES

Please be informed that the Nigerian Bar Association has received a formal request from the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Honourable Justice I.N Auta, OFR, FCIArb, FDRI for the nomination of suitably qualified candidates for consideration for appointment as Judges of the Federal High Court.

Further to His Lordship's above-mentioned request; the President of the Nigerian Bar Association; Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud, OON, SAN, FCIArb (UK), hereby invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified candidates from the Bar. Pursuant to Section 250 (3) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, interested candidates must be qualified to practise as legal practitioners in Nigeria and have been so qualified for a period of not less than ten (10) years. They are also required to provide copies of the following:

1. Curriculum Vitae (clearly stating their State of Origin, Local Government and Senatorial Districts)
2. Call to Bar Certificate
3. Evidence of Payment of Annual Bar Practicing Fees and NBA Branch Dues as at when due for the last ten (10) years preceding their application.
4. Letter of Good Standing from their registered NBA Branch signed by the Branch Chairman and Secretary

Please address and forward hard copies of all Expressions of Interest and the requisite supporting documents to the Office of the President, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA House, 8th Floor, Plot 1101 Cadastral Zone A00, Central Business District, Abuja, FCT. Soft copies of the above may also be forwarded via email to: info@nigerianbar.org.ng
Kindly note that the deadline for the submission of Expressions of Interest shall be Thursday 27 April 2017 by 5pm prompt. This deadline shall not be extended nor will any documents be accepted by the Nigerian Bar Association after the stated date and time.
